Gauss-Bonnet cosmologies: crossing the phantom divide and the transition from matter dominance to dark energy

چکیده
Dark energy cosmologies with an equation of state parameter w less than −1 are often found to violate the null energy condition and show unstable behaviour. A solution to this problem may require the existence of a consistent effective theory that violates the null energy condition only momentarily and does not develop any instabilities or other pathological features for a late time cosmology. A model which incorporates a dynamical scalar field φ coupled to the quadratic Riemann invariant of the Gauss-Bonnet form is a viable proposal. Such an effective theory is shown to admit nonsingular cosmological evolutions for a wide range of scalar-Gauss-Bonnet coupling. We discuss the conditions for which our model yields observationally supported spectra of scalar and tensor fluctuations, under cosmological perturbations. The model can provide a reasonable explanation for the transition from matter dominance to dark energy regime and the late time cosmic acceleration, offering an interesting testing ground for investigations of the cosmological modified gravity.

In this paper we study a dark energy model in which tachyon scalar field non-minimally coupled with kinetic energy and Gauss-Bonnet invariant. Energy density рø, pressure рø and scalar field equation of motion have been calculated and then equation of state parameter has been extracted. We have investigated the conditions required for ω=-1 crossing in such a model. It is shown that phantom divi...
متن کاملA Braneworld Dark Energy Model with Induced Gravity and the Gauss-Bonnet Effect
We construct a holographic dark energy model with a non-minimally coupled scalar field on the brane where Gauss-Bonnet and Induced Gravity effects are taken into account. This model provides a wide parameter space with several interesting cosmological implications. Especially, the equation of state parameter of the model crosses the phantom divide line and it is possible to realize bouncing sol...

By choosing the future event horizon as the horizon of the flat FLRW universe, we show that although the interacting holographic dark energy model is able to explain the phantom divide line crossing, but the thermodynamics second law is not respected in this model. We show that if one takes the particle event horizon as the horizon of the universe, besides describing ω = −1 crossing in a consis...

By choosing the future event horizon as the horizon of the flat FLRW universe, we show that the interacting holographic dark energy model is able to explain the phantom divide line crossing. We show that if one takes the particle event horizon as the horizon of the universe, besides describing ω = −1 crossing, (based on astrophysical data) he is able to determine appropriately the ratio of dark...

Models with a scalar field coupled to the Gauss-Bonnet Lagrangian appear naturally from Kaluza-Klein compactifications of pure higher-dimensional gravity. We study linear, cosmological perturbations in the limits of weak coupling and slow-roll, and derive simple expressions for the main observable sub-horizon quantities: the anisotropic stress factor, the time-dependent gravitational constant, ...
